Take me Back to Cebu
Obviously, I just got home late last night from Cebu (as what was stated in my previous post).
What can I say? ...
it was SUPER!So, while my mind's still fresh, let's narrate this now. :)
Monday. We left early morning, around 4am and proceeded to the airport. I was so excited because we'll be riding a plane.
You should know by now how crazy I am when it comes to planes. In fact, (as stated in my wishlist) I would like to be an aviatrix/pilot in the future. We arrived quite early though because, as usual, Dad was the one driving (even though we had a driver with us). ANYWAY. We checked-in and Dad requested for two window-side seats for my younger sisters. Then, we got our tickets.. all we had to do was wait. Wait for quite a while. :P We had breakfast somewhere in the airport :) Afterwards, we sat and patiently waited for our flight to flash
boarding on the screen. :)
Our flight was exciting, specially the take-off and landing part :) Approximately, it took us about an hour to reach
Mactan Cebu International Airport.
Mang Neo was our driver-slash-tour guide for the day, as he drives us to the port. He kept on giving quite a number of informations about the places we pass by. But I just slept all throughout the 2-hour trip from the airport to the port/dock. Was just too tired to listen :)
We still had to take a 1-hour boat ride in order to reach Bantayan Island.
Quite a looooooong trip, uh? We took the 12:30 trip and got our butts on the first class section of
Island Boat. First class wasn't really the first-class-airplane-type but it was good enough since it was airconditioned and we had a movie to keep us up during the whole boat ride.
From the port, we were picked up by
Manong Jimmy and was welcomed by his all-time-famous-vehicle,
the tricycle. Oh no, don't get me wrong here. Their tricycle is waaaaay better than ours. No offense, though. They have until second row, so it's perfect for 6 people, including the driver. And for me, it was a great escape from
city life and a magnificent exposure to
provincial life. Honestly, there weren't much cars in Sta. Fe, Bantayan. Most of the time, you'll just see a tricycle, their
own version of jeepneys and pedicabs. Yup. No modern-technology-made-up-of-expensive-materials type of car in Bantayan. Atleast, in where we stayed in. :) It was TOTALLY provincial life there.
Well, we checked in
Ogtong Cave, a beach resort which has a cave where you could swim.. with fishes. =)) It is a CLASS "A" beach resort, has a great view of the beach and an excellent landscape. It was fun. There were a lot of activities and the food was
cheap and delicious. So, it was a good choice. Actually, I instantly fell in love with their Chicken Sandwhich which tasted like heaven. :P Veggies-- I just love 'em.
Tuesday. We headed to the market for
pasalubongs. FRESH. :) Now, this is the
real provincial life. It took us about 20-25 mins. Again, with the all-time famous tricycle of Manong Jimmy. Of course, I wasn't used to market-smelling places and the market itself, but I tried my best to just keep my mouth shut and keep breathing as if the smell's nothing. It was hard, honestly. But I got over it after a while.
Then, we had lunch in
Jela's. Also in the marketplace. Honestly, the food's great. It's cheap too. But yeah, it was just like the regular
lutong bahay style. We stayed for two nights in Ogtong Cave. We used their kayak and bike boat which was soooooo fun. My sisters did their usual thing-- collect shells.
Actually, Ogtong Cave kind of resembles Bohol Beach Club. :P It was great staying there.
Wednesday was bye-bye Bantayan day. We bid goodbye to Manong Jimmy and his tricycle :) And took the
Fast Craft which is, obviously, a fast boat. Took us only 45 mins to reach the port.
From there, we were picked up by
Manong Teddy, this time. And, he drove us off to Plantation Bay. Actually, we dropped by
Alegre Beach. Ahh.. it was so nice too. We had
formal lunch there. Yeah. Formal :) We didn't stay that long though since we still had an hour and 30 minutes trip to Plantation Bay.
When we reached our destination.. it felt like heaven. Plantation Bay is
love. I mean, if you were just there, ahhhh. :) But the thing about it is that it's just too expensive. A night's stay is about 12 thousand. I know.. too expensive, but really, if you were there, you'll love the place. It's simply, breath-taking. :) They even got a tram to tour the 8-hectar Plantation Bay.
Well, we swam during the first day. All swimming and eating. Food's great, again.. but it's just
expensive. ANYWAY.
Thursday. We went biking. :) About 2 hours. It was fun. Played in the gameroom. Went online for a short while :) Then, got back to
NILE-19 to rest. Stayed until 4. Then, was picked up by Dad's friend and went to
SM Cebu. DIDN'T do shopping this time. :) Self-control. :P
We ate at some thai restaurant and then, proceeded to the airport. HONESTLY, we were late when we arrived. It was 730 already and our flight was at 830. One hour to go. Ahhhh. We had to rush. But obviously, we were able to catch up. :) good thing.
Oh yeah, I've got some photos. :P (NOT ARRANGED THOUGH)
